Venezuelan-Canadian artist JACE Carrillo is a celebrated R&B singer-songwriter across Latin America who has recently been making a name for himself across Montreal and the rest of Canada. With nearly one million combined streams, the Montrealer and former La Voix (The Voice) participant won his first award in the 2022 Venezuelan Pepsi Music Awards for Best Electronic Music Video for his song “The Rhythm of Life” from his debut album “JACE”. The 2022 “Syli d’Or” World Music Showcase semi-finalist has collaborated with world renowned producers and musicians, including Luca The Producer, Señor Steve, Jacob Lacroix-Cardinal, Alyko (Panama), and Dany El Pana. With a sound that blends Latin music with traditionally American sounds, JACE is gearing up to release his highly anticipated sophomore album. The talented singer-songwriter often draws comparisons to Enrique Iglesias and Luis Fonsi and has just released his 2000’s R&B/Pop influenced single “Desapareces”, (“Disappearing” in English) on October 7 2022.

Written after challenging himself to celebrated artist and One Republic band Member Ryan Tedders’ songwriting course, “Desapareces” is the first song JACE wrote upon completing the course. “Desapareces” was co-produced with Luca The Producer (Corneille, Ariane Moffatt, Preston Pablo), mixed by Jacob Lacroix-Cardinal (Charlie Puth, Rosalia, A$AP Ferg), and mastered by twelve time Latin Grammy winner, Felipe Tichauer (Camilo, Camila Cabello, Christina Aguilera, Timbaland).

About “Desapareces”:

“Desapareces” is a lyrically imagined song about a character falling in love with someone in a dream yet being unable to achieve the same while awake. The track is from JACE’s upcoming album “Phenomena”, which he describes as a musical and lyrical journey of interpersonal relationships explained through cosmos phenomena. Both poetic and romantic, “Desapareces” is reminiscent of Pop music from the early 2000’s, and seamlessly blends live instruments with electronic elements. From its ethereal opening, “Desapareces” features a strong bass line with Lofi-Pop along with JACE’s strong R&B and Pop blended vocals. With its strong, catchy chorus that is easily danceable, “Desapareces” bridges Anglo-Pop with the Latin world, in a uniquely different way than most of the popular Latin-Reggaeton and Latin-Rap styles we see today. Demonstrating that music transcends language, JACE’s brand new song serves as the perfect national introduction to the already well known artist.

Noting that the song was written in just a few days, JACE’s focus has been on creating a comprehensive album, similar to a Netflix series where each song ties together yet individually tells a story. With his own take on modern R&B and Pop music, JACE’s collaboration for this song with Luca The Producer and Jacob Lacroix-Cardinal have helped him hone his overall sound and style to one that he grew up loving. Citing Justin Timberlake’s early 2000 sound, Charlie Puth, and numerous other Pop/R&B artists as inspiration for his music, JACE is achieving his dream of creating his own style of the music that inspired him.
