Almost everything can be turned into ash, but as Robyn Ottolini sings on her hard-hitting new single, there is no “Match for My Memory.” The first song to be released through her new distribution deal with Empire, “Match for My Memory” (LISTEN HERE / VISUALIZER) is available today and begins a new era for the artist that will see some of her most honest music releases to date.

“We’re more important than we think, but you never feel that way right after a breakup, ” says Ottolini, “This song is a reminder to anyone who’s had someone leave them that you actually are important and unforgettable.”

Co-written by Ottolini and Emily Reid and produced by the platinum-selling duo Mark Schroor and Erik Fintelman, the song carves its way through the aftermath of a breakup and the ways we try in vain to erase those painful memories. Tactile reminders can be destroyed but Ottolini’s choice of lyrics paint an emotional picture of memories that live in an untouchable place.

“You can burn every picture of us, every shirt I forgot in your drawer,
Go ahead and set fire to your bed,
And hope it spreads to where we danced on your kitchen floor,
But you can’t incinerate what you keep on reminiscing,
There’s no getting away from every thought of me,
Everything that we had, you can turn into ash but
There’s no match for my memory”

In June, Ottolini will open for Shania Twain on the eastern-leg of her “Queen of Me” Canadian tour. She will also perform at festival dates in Canada throughout the summer. See a list of upcoming concert dates below, with more being announced in the coming weeks.

Prior to joining Twain on tour, Ottolini will perform at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards in Hamilton, Ontario, on June 4. She is also tied for most nominations this year with 5, including Female Artist of the Year, Fans’ Choice and Songwriter of the Year.

In addition to her music, Ottolini recently launched her exclusive sustainable merch line – available soon at shoprobynottolini.com and at her upcoming shows. Each item is thrifted by Ottolini herself and undergoes a print and distressing process. Passionate about sustainability, Ottolini strives to keep clothing out of the landfills and give new life to these pieces.

Ottolini, winner of the 2021 CCMA Award winner for Rising Star, has achieved massive success in just the past three years, with over 100 million global streams, a platinum-selling juggernaut “F-150” and a gold single with the hit “Tell You Everything.” She is the second most followed Canadian country artist on TikTok, only behind the legendary Twain.
