The Philadelphia Phillies are going to the World Series and to celebrate, Philly-based brass-heavy funk/jazz/punk septet SNACKTIME covered “Dancing On My Own” as a bonus track during its recent Key Studio Session at WXPN. Watch SNACKTIME perform an all-instrumental version of the Phillies’ anthem HERE.

“Dancing on my Own” has been adopted as the victory anthem for the Phillies, being blasted during locker room celebrations after post-season wins, and belted by countless fans as they flood the streets of Philadelphia.

SNACKTIME is the brainchild of Sam Gellerstein (sousaphone), and Ben Stocker (tenor saxophone), two high school friends-turned-bandmates who started playing at various public spaces around Philly with their other five bandmates – Michael Spearman (trombone), Eric Sherman (trumpet), Larry Monroe Jr (guitar), Austin Marlow (drums), and, Yesseh Furaha-Ali (alto saxophone/MC).

They’ve grown to be a local symbol of positivity and cathartic release, showcasing the richness of Philadelphia’s music community from neighborhood festivals to Philadelphia 76ers halftime shows, growing to performance slots at major festivals. The outfit recently released its highly anticipated debut album, Sounds From The Street: Live!.

SNACKTIME will be performing a hometown, headlining show next month at the Theatre of Living Arts on Friday, November 18 with Johnny Showcase Mystic Ticket + THR3ZUS w/ Ernest Stuart and tickets are available HERE.
