Mexican American and three-time Austin award-winning trio Tiarra Girls – composed of sisters Tori Baltierra, Tiffany Baltierra and Sophia Baltierra –  mark their first single and music video“Soy Chingona” since signing a co-management deal with Cosmica Artists and 484 Management. Their latest track, which translates to “I’m a badass,” sits at the intersection where alternative rock meets latin dance rhythms to present a bilingual anthem of sisterhood and a rooted dedication to the strong women that inspire their external communities and to their own internally empowered creative voice.

Tori’s guitar and Tiffany’s bass lay down a foundation of psychedelic ska, Sophia’s percussion holds down a familiar cumbia pulse, all while Tori delivers a fierce advocacy and celebration of women’s reclamation of autonomy.

Adding to the theme of feminine celebration, the multi-faceted sister’s also deliberately utilized an all women identifying production crew from creative conception to execution to bring their accompanying visuals to life.

Their upcoming release will mark a strong declarative introduction for the Tiarra Girls as a genre-defying band of artivists delivering empowering messages to a new generation.

ABOUT TIARRA GIRLS

Composed of Singer/guitarist Tori Baltierra, bassist Tiffany Baltierra and drummer Sophia Baltierra, the multi-faceted artists are a part of a generation creating a global music culture by pursuing sound without restrictions. Activists for a better world, their first recording came after the 2016 election in the form of a protest song titled “Leave It to the People.” The powerfully engaging single was promoted via a series of public service announcements for Rock the VoteJolt and Voto Latino with an emphasis on encouraging young people to vote.

Their last release “Can’t Stop the World,” is a cover of the hit classic by The Go-Go’s. Adding to the star power of the young female-fronted band, new lyrics were written exclusively for the Tiarra’s by Austin resident Kathy Valentine, original bass guitarist for The Go-Go’s and fan of the band.

Marking a new chapter for The Tiarra Girls, they have inked a co-management deal with Cosmica Artists and 484 Management with plans to release new music throughout the rest of 2021.
