Aaron Goodvin is the first to admit, he cannot dance. So when his double-platinum selling smash single “Lonely Drum” became the soundtrack to one of the world’s most popular line dances, captivating dancers around the globe and inspiring a countless amount of online tutorial videos in dozens of languages, Goodvin couldn’t help but laugh at the irony.

With the release of his new single Country Dance today (Sakamoto Music/Warner Music Canada), Goodvin is hoping to prove once again that even if he can’t dance, he can certainly create a dance craze.  Goodvin’s wholehearted embrace of the void of grace from his foot movement was, in fact, the inspiration for “Country Dance,” which he co-wrote with Catt Gravitt and Skip Black, the same creative force behind “Lonely Drum.”

“Often I would imagine how cool it would be to have a sort of sequel to ‘Lonely Drum,’ and every time I would write with Catt and Skip, that thought lurked in the back of my mind,” says Goodvin. “‘Country Dance’ began to emerge while joking around about the fact that I can’t even do the ‘Lonely Drum’ line dance, one of the most popular line dances out there. One of my favorite things about writing this song was we didn’t even figure out what the title would be until we got to the end of the chorus.”

As he ventures into uncharted territory once again, Goodvin’s infectious spirit and genuine enthusiasm shine through in “Country Dance.” The song not only showcases his signature blend of modern country and gritty soulful vocals but also reveals his ability to find humor in his own quirks. By embracing his limitations and inviting fans to join him on the dance floor, Goodvin aims to create a lighthearted and joyful atmosphere that resonates with listeners on a personal level.

Goodvin will be playing at festivals all summer long across Canada and the U.S., where fans will be among the first to experience the electrifying live performance of “Country Dance” firsthand. Visit www.aarongoodvin.com for a complete list of upcoming dates, with more being added soon.

The summer shows follow Goodvin’s first ever Canadian headline run earlier this year, where he played to sold out crowds from coast to coast on his “It’s The Ride” tour.
