She first gained fame in the early 1980s as one half of the synth-pop duo Yazoo (known as Yaz in the U.S.), alongside Vince Clarke, formerly of Depeche Mode. Their short but impactful collaboration produced hits like “Only You” and “Don’t Go,” helping to define the sound of early electronic pop. After Yazoo disbanded in 1983, Moyet embarked on a successful solo career, releasing her debut album Alf in 1984, which included hits like “Love Resurrection” and “All Cried Out.”
Over the decades, Moyet has continued to evolve artistically, experimenting with various genres while maintaining her soulful vocal style. Her later albums, such as Hometime (2002), The Minutes (2013), and Other (2017), were met with critical acclaim and showcased her versatility as an artist unafraid of reinvention.
