Following a 13-year split, cult LA/Nashville combo The Ettes – guitarist/vocalist Coco Hames and drummer Maria “Poni” Silver – have reunited and released a triumphant comeback single, “Not At All.” The song marks a much-anticipated return for the critically acclaimed group, hailed for their “fierce mix of pop smarts and garage rock power” (All Music), “scuffed sweet songs” (NME) and ability to “channel the best bouffanted singers of the ’60s while adding a sleek punk edge” (NPR). 

It feels good to be back,” says frontwoman Hames. “But it’s not out of nostalgia — it’s out of artistic necessity and a real sense we had unfinished business with each other and with this music.”  

Last month, The Ettes surprise dropped their first new song since 2011 with the teaser track “Dangerous Girl,” an incendiary rocker that served as a call to arms for the group’s longtime fans.

Now the band has followed with the first official track from their new recording project, the anthemic pop evocation “Not At All.” The accompanying video – a surreal high-glam clip co-directed by Hames and Silver – puts a playful narrative twist on the story of their breakup and reformation, culminating in a joyous dance number.
