Swedish-Pop artist FELIN released her new song, “Heroes & Villains” today from the new album of the same name due next year. The song is available on DSPs worldwide.
The “Heroes & Villains” video is an artistic culmination of pure mayhem and corruptness festering in our world. Grabbing attention with neon lighting and elements of camp, vogue, and grunge, the visuals provide an alluring contrast to the narrative and its harsh reality. FELIN sings, “old man Sam is coming for you, changing his opinions like he’s changing his shoes, whistling away while we’re singing the blues, what are we gonna do?” and continues with “there’s a lot of bad things out in the world, but they say you live you learn. Oh we’re did the good guys go? Seems like they lost control forgot ‘bout their heart and soul, who said it would be easy?”
FELIN’s compelling voice is underscored by a pulsating guitar line that drives the song forward. Despite the name “Heroes & Villains” indicating a black and white world view, the music ventures into the complexity of moral grayness. FELIN shares “’Heroes & Villains’ kind of ties together the whole theme of the album, touching on topics such as women’s rights, gun violence, injustices and the good and evil forces in the world.”
Her music is a cinematic experience and it explores the bridge between the aural and the visual. She draws inspiration from an eclectic array of influences ranging from theater to the dark humors of Quentin Tarantino.
