Five years ago, on a hot day in August, we watched the sun rise over a skyline we all know and love as we shot what was to become our fifth music video. Throughout the day, we set up and teared down outside some of our favourite venues throughout Toronto while being joined by some amazing people we are lucky to call friends. Unfortunately, shortly after, it seemed most of the footage was corrupted and we assumed the video would never see the light of day, that is until the incredible Kathleen Fobert was able to salvage what we all thought was forever lost to the digital ether.
Originally released on our 2022 EP, Reload, the video for “Crooked Girl” was shot in 2021 with longtime collaborators Kathleen Fobert and Diego Perez Del Rio. The video originally served as a statement against the closure of many of Toronto’s beloved venues post-pandemic. While the shape of the video has changed drastically since then, the message remains both compelling and increasingly relevant.
Since 2015, One In The Chamber has earned comparisons to the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Led Zeppelin,
Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens Of The Stone Age, and July Talk through the release of
three EP’s: I’ve Got Something To Say… (2018), Reload (2022), and The Cabin Sessions (2024). Fiercely
independent, One In The Chamber has cut their teeth live as they tour across Ontario and Quebec, with
festival highlights including CMW, Gussapolooza, NXNE, Indie Week, Kawartha Pyrofest, Belleterre Music
Fest, Voodoo Rockfest and Sound of Music Fest, among others. As the band celebrates a decade of music
and live revelry, their uncompromising sound and electrifying live performance has made One In The
Chamber a staple among Toronto’s vibrant music scene.
2018 marked the release of their debut EP, I’ve Got Something To Say…. The five-track record was
recorded at Phase One Studios with producer Murray Daigle and introduced their audience to their
signature, riff driven songwriting that is built upon gritty guitars and thunderous grooves. Led by singles
“Bills To Pay” and “Itchin’ Back”, I’ve Got Something To Say… was critically acclaimed and saw the
band make their mark on Canadian and international radio and Spotify editorial playlists. The band would
continue to collaborate with Daigle on their follow-up EP, Reload. Featuring some of their biggest singles
to date – “Blow” and “To The Gallows”, the band embraced new tones and influences, demonstrating a wider range to their songwriting and performance. The 2022 EP also saw the band collaborate with local, independent businesses (Muskoka Brewery, Hades Coffee, Sock Bro, and Chicca’s Chicken) for a sprawling pre-order campaign and would continue to work with Hades Coffee to create their own signature blend, Reloaded. Most recently, One In The Chamber released The Cabin Sessions, a four song creative detour recorded over the course of a weekend in a cabin up north, where they, along with producer Myke Penney (The Jailbirds, The Wildhigh), would make a DIY studio. The almost entirely acoustic project established a far greater sense of versatility and artistic vision from the rock outfit. To close out their 2025, One In The Chamber was named Best Emerging Band by Mississauga Music.
As One In The Chamber wraps up a decade together, they continue to find inspiration in the creative
process. The band thrives in the shadows of Toronto’s dive bars and in the spotlights of
the province’s festival circuit, as One In The Chamber truly comes to life on the stage, connecting them to
a far grander tradition of rock & roll.
