If you had the opportunity to see The Glorious Sons this summer you likely heard the previously unreleased single “New Plan.” However, like any unreleased song, your only opportunity to listen to it was a crappy cell phone video with the hopes that you couldn’t hear yourself signing along in the background…and The Glorious Sons fans wanted better. Forming together to quickly launch operation #ReleaseNewPlan, fans rallied with signs at their shows and online petitions to turn this festival favorite into a single, and the band gave the people what they wanted, releasing “New Plan” on all streaming platforms today.
Like so many of The Glorious Sons songs, the illustrative lyrics of “New Plan” create a beautiful story. And while the song seems so deeply personal, the universal emotions allow any listener to place themselves as the main character. In a tale of longing, passion, self-awareness and growth, you find yourself singing the lyrics as if you wrote them yourself.
