Photos by Shannon Guest – Sara Bareilles is a Grammy and Tony Award–nominated American singer, songwriter, and composer who rose to international fame with her chart-topping pop hits and acclaimed work in musical theater. Born and raised in Eureka, California, Bareilles discovered her love for music early on through church choirs, high school theater, and self-taught piano sessions. After attending UCLA and performing with local bands, she released her major-label debut album, Little Voice, in 2007. The album featured her breakthrough anthemic hit “Love Song,” which earned global commercial success and launched her career as a powerful new voice in piano-driven pop soul. She followed this success with celebrated albums like Kaleidoscope Heart and The Blessed Unrest, which gave rise to her inspiring hit single “Brave”.

Bareilles seamlessly expanded her talents into Broadway and television, composing the music and lyrics for the smash hit musical Waitress and starring in the show as Jenna Hunterson. Her work on Broadway earned her multiple Tony nominations, while her acting role as Dawn Solano in the comedy series Girls5eva showcased her comedic and performance versatility on screen. With millions of records sold, multiple Grammy wins, and acclaimed projects spanning both stage and studio, Bareilles continues to stand out as one of modern music’s most authentic and compelling storytellers.
